Celtics Make Green Offer, Exercise Bradley Option

BOSTON (AP) — The Boston Celtics have made a qualifying offer to forward Jeff Green, making him a restricted free agent.

Also Thursday, the team exercised its option on guard Avery Bradley for the 2012-13 season. Terms of the deals were not disclosed.

Green averaged 9.8 points and 3.3 rebounds with the Celtics last season after coming to Boston in the trade that sent Kendrick Perkins to Oklahoma City.

Bradley averaged 1.7 points in 5.2 minutes per game as a rookie for the Celtics. He was Boston’s first-round draft pick, 19th overall.

Heat, Celtics Face Off With 2 Seed Likely at Stake

MIAMI (AP) — No matter what happens Sunday, neither the nor the will have wrapped up the No. 2 seed for the Eastern Conference playoffs.

It may only seem that way.

The Celtics may have taken all three games from Miami this season, but in actuality, the teams are even. Both are 55-24 with three games left, the first of those coming on the Heat home floor against one another Sunday afternoon.

Teams with a No. 2 seed are guaranteed home-court advantage for at least the first two playoff rounds. But for Miami, Sunday’s game has more meaning — the Heat simply want to find a way to beat the Celtics for the first time all year.
