The Boston Celtics are anxiously awaiting the early rematch against the Chicago Bulls tonight after taking a six point loss last Thursday evening. The Celtics will have an opportunity for revenge upon the Bulls as they host Chicago tonight in the confines of TD Garden.
Last week, the Celtic’s had to endure the debut of Dwayne Wade as a Chicago Bull. Wade would finish the game with 22 points combined with Jimmy Butler’s 24 points led the Bulls over the Celtics.
Horford makes difference on both sides of the ball.
The acquisition of Center Al Horford by the Boston Celtics this offseason was huge not only money wise but offensively and defensively as well. Horford, who played his previous nine seasons with the Atlanta Hawks, has made quite a name on the offensive and defensive sides of the ball over the years.
“He’s an efficient player and he makes the open shot. He’s a really good passer, a really good passer out of the pick-and-roll,” said former Atlanta Assistant and current Nets coach Kenny Atkinson.
Preseason opener against Hornets Saturday
The Boston Celtics opened their preseason on the road against the Philadelphia 76ers with a 92-89 loss at the Mullins Center. The team was led by PG Terry Rozier with 22 points while SG Brandon Paul led the Sixers with 15 points.
Another key element was the new 3-point shot from Jae Crowder who worked all summer to improve his outside shot and went 3-6 against the Sixers.
