BOSTON (Reuters) – Boston reserve guard Delonte West suffered a broken right wrist during the 89-83 victory over the on Wednesday, the team said.
West fell hard after making a drive to the basket during the first half. He remained on the court for a few minutes before leaving for the locker room.
“It’s broken for sure,” Boston coach told the .
“Don’t know anything else more than that. A compound fracture most likely. But that’s going to be a long time, let’s just put it that way.”
Signed to the Celtics in the off-season, West had just returned to action after serving a 10-game suspension for pleading guilty to carrying a gun.
West was averaging 7.5 points per game entering the night.
