Miami pounds Boston 93-79 in Eastern Conference Finals opener
“On the road, you can’t have two quarters of lulls,” Celtics Head Coach Doc Rivers
The Boston Celtics looked like a shell of their championships selves before, during and after taking a pounding by LeBron James and Company. James scored 32 points and collected 13 rebounds while Dwayne Wade contributed 22 points and 7 assists to the effort.
Miami opened the game with a 21-11 first quarter but Boston stormed back in the 2nd quarter outscoring the Heat by 10, 25-35. The Celtics would never get any closer as the Heat defense held the Celtics to 15 points in the third and 18 points in the fourth quarter.
“They’re home, they’re comfortable and when you’re comfortable you do things like that. We have to show them to take them out of their comfort zone. We’ve got to fight a lot harder.” Kevin Garnett
Game 2 is scheduled for Wednesday in Miami.
