Celtics fall to Sixers in preseason opener

 Preseason opener against Hornets Saturday

The Boston Celtics opened their preseason on the road against the Philadelphia 76ers with a 92-89 loss at the Mullins Center. The team was led by PG Terry Rozier with 22 points while SG Brandon Paul led the Sixers with 15 points.

celtics-2Another key element was the new 3-point shot from Jae Crowder who worked all summer to improve his outside shot and went 3-6 against the Sixers.

“Of course with Isaiah (Thomas) who’s going to draw a lot of attention and Al’s going to draw a lot of attention, I should have a lot of shots on the court where it’s just me stepping into a shot and making it,” Crowder said at practice last week. “So I’m just trying to work on those shots. And of course like I said, I just feel more comfortable off the dribble, making a shot, making a pull-up, or if it be just coming off the pick, stepping back and shooting a three.”

The Celtics take on the Charlotte Hornets on the road Thursday night and again on Saturday at the Mohegan Sun Arena, in Connecticut.  Plenty of great seats and affordable tickets are still available so be sure to grab yours today and help cheer on your Boston Celtics!
