Boston Defense responsible for current record/streak

The Boston Celtics are finally honoring Head Coach Brad Stevens call for hard nosed defense, particularly in the half court, led by Marcus Smart.  Against the Rockets Monday night, the Celtics fell as far as 15 points behind before tying it up at the half.

“We were more locked in, hands were up, more deflection oriented,” coach Brad Stevens said of Boston’s defensive pressure after the first quarter.

The Celtics went on to beat the Rockets 111-95 after holding the Rockets to just 13 fourth quarter points.

It was announced today that Rockets Head Coach Kevin McHale was released following the loss per league sources.  Assistant Coach JB Bickerstaff will take over as interim head coach.
