Tonight’s game is the 412th meeting between the two teams
The Boston Celtics (10-7, 2nd Atlantic Division) and the Detroit Pistons (9-10, 5th Central Division) Franchise are no strangers and the competition between theses two storied franchises dates back to 1957 and the Celtics lead the series 257-154.
But this Celtics squad is not the team it is on the road and, after dropping their last two home games, will look to get their home game squared away tonight. Book makers are putting the onus on the Pistons and have the Celtics as eight point favorites. The last time the two teams met on November 19th the Celtics walked away with a two point 94-92 win.
The Celtics will have Center Al Horford back in the lineup tonight after missing nine games due to concussion and family time due to his wife being pregnant. Horford received some flak about missing time because of family.
“Everybody has their opinion. I respect anything that anybody has to say. I care a lot about the group and our guys. Like I was explaining earlier, for my family’s sake it was important for me to be there for them. Just with our transition and everything. So that’s that. Now I can put that behind me and get focused again on (Wednesday’s game).”
